ADVISORY BOARD

An advisory board of established and successful industry professionals has been created for the Night Blind core team to use for guidance, consultation, and mentoring.

 

 

 

Janusz Kaminski

 

Mr. Kaminski immigrated at the age of 21 to the United States. There, he attended Columbia College in Chicago from 1982 to 1987, taking up film making as a profession before transferring to the AFI Conservatory, where he graduated with an M.F.A. degree. Kaminski twice won the Academy Award for Best Cinematography in the 1990s, for "Schindler’s List" and "Saving Private Ryan." In addition, his remarkable eye and aesthetic for motion and light can be found in a wide range of successful films, including Minority Report, Munich, and 2008's summer block buster, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

 

 

 

John Jacobsen

 

John Jacobsen’s career has encompassed direction, writing, and production of feature films, films for television, short films, commercials, television shows and documentaries. He has worked with such stars as Bill Pullman, Sandra Bullock, Eli Wallach, Marcia Gay Harden, among others. Jacobsen was an assistant to legendary Broadway director Hal Prince and sold several screenplays. Also, Jacobsen has directed more than 20 stage productions and continues to lecture around the country on writing, as well as teach acting and directing at a variety of professional schools, including his own Seattle classroom, TheFilmSchool.

 

 

 

Amy Dee

 

As current director of Washington Filmworks, Amy Dee’s mission is to promote the growth of film and video production in Washington State. She started her career as an independent film publicist out of New York and Los Angeles, designing the release campaigns for groundbreaking films such as "The Blair Witch Project" and "American Psycho." Since moving to Seattle in 2002, she has worked in various capacities, from Director of Publicity and Promotion for SIFF (2003-04), Festival Director of the Reel Cinerama Film Festival (2003 and 2004), to Producer of the SIFF Fly Filmmaking Challenge (2003-07).
